Jared is a Growth Partner and Product Strategist at thrv, a bootstrapped and profitable startup founded by Jay Haynes that provides training, services, and software tools to help product teams execute Jobs-to-be-Done.

Jared also founded Brief, an app that helped freelancers get new business by making it faster and easier to build relationships with potential customers, and is an advisor at Bizyhood, a startup that connects businesses to potential customers via local publishers.

Prior to Brief, Jared was the Director of Consumer Product at Patch, where he and his team were responsible for the reading, writing and sharing features across all platforms: desktop and mobile web, iOS and Android. Before becoming a Product Manager, Jared was the National Aggregation Editor at Patch. Combining  the best practices of and The Huffington Post, Jared implemented a strategy that brought the 1,000+ Patch editors from doing zero aggregation to thousands of aggregated items per week. This role was a natural extension of the work Jared had done at from 2007 to the day AOL/Patch acquired the start-up in 2011. Jared found a love for building new technology products at where he joined as an Executive Admin and finished as the VP of Partner Relations.

In a previous life, Jared was a director, writer, and producer for the stage working at The St. Louis Muny (Associate Producer for 3 seasons), Steppenwolf Theater, The Paper Mill Playhouse, and Northlight Theater among others.

For Jared, putting on a show is a lot like releasing a new tech product: you’re trying to accomplish the impossible without enough time, money, or people. You never feel finished, but the show must go on. The only difference is that on the internet, the curtain never goes down.
